NEW SCHEDULE OF OFFICIAL SEE FOR REGISTRATION OF TRADEMARK, PATENTS AND OTHER IP MATTERS OF INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY

Circular No. 263/2016/TT-BTC of November 14, 2016 by Ministry of by the Ministry of Finance will make it considerably costlier to register and renewal of trademark and IP Object

For trademark registration, that each good or service exceeding 6 will be subject to an additional fee remain unchanged. For those application with a lengthy list of goods and services, the holder may find it more efficient by registering the mar under Madrid System.

For trademark renewal, a fee called for “use fee” is added. A holder will have to pay for that fee regardless of whether it uses the mark before the renewal or not. Remember that a trademark registration will be vulnerable to cancellation action by a third party if the mark it is not use for 5 consecutive years.
